Love Angel, but You'll Reach for Muse (ft Angel Muse*)

Thierry Mugler Angel Muse Perfume Review

Your moose are now safe! Whereas the original Angel perfume can be experienced by all and by far, there now is the option of Angel Muse* ($78CDN, 30ml) a more intimate interpretation of the Angel* scent.

Thierry Mugler Angel Muse Perfume Review

Angel Muse is a deeper, more honeyed version of Angel with as equal lasting power but much lower sillage. There is no announcement of perfume as you enter the room and the soft presence of Muse will make this a more easily reached for scent. Those who love Angel but are too aware of its far reaching powers will find this a welcomed entry into the Mugler line.

This fragrance is an Oriental Vanilla scent but while Angel features sweet, patchouli and caramel, Muse is woody, nutty though still sweet. We aren't talking the acrid sweetness of say, Juicey Couture or other teenaged perfumes which are pure sugar but the mellowed sweetness of cream. This is a sensibly balanced mix of the follow notes:

Top Notes: Grapefruit, Pink Pepper
Mid Notes: Hazelnut, Cream, Rose
Base Notes: Honey, Patchouli

All in all, though I love Angel I still hesitate to use it but I easily spritz on Muse for the workday. One minor detail, the flacon is slippery to open and popping the top off requires your nails instead of holding the cap with your hands. It has become easier after a few uses but the design of the bottle is almost too smooth for handling. Either way, if you love Angel but want something more subtle and still present, you will readily enjoy Muse.
